This popular UK city has been named as having the highest amount of disposable income, meaning residents have more spare money to play with.
People living in Brighton have an average of £1,315 spare cash per month – more than any other city in the UK, data by This is Money shows.
This is 30% higher than those living in London who have an average disposable income of £1,013.
Brighton is known for being an enjoyable place to live due to being a vibrant city on the coast.
The data provides information on the North-South divide by providing information about value of money and levels of disposable income, reports Daily Mail.

Nottingham is third in the list of places with the highest levels of disposable income at £1,055 per month.
According to MoneySuperMarket’s Household Money Index, a study that factors in 31 different types of bills and outgoings, research showed that Britons typically have £836 in disposable income each month, depending on where they live.
In the south, Cardiff and Southampton, have £914.38 and £893.07 left over power month on average.
Up towards the north, Liverpool and Leeds have disposable income levels of £541.82 and £543.82.
Meanwhile, in Birmingham people typically have £871.02 in disposable income after bills and outgoings, and in Manchester people have £869.93.

The city with the least disposable income is Bristol, where people averagely have £430.73 disposable income due to high property prices.
In September 2023, MoneySuperMarket found people across Britain were typically spending 70 per cent of their monthly income on bills and outgoings.
By September 2024, this figure had fallen to 69 per cent and today’s data suggests this has dropped further to 62 per cent.
With higher wages and lower outgoings, people living in Brighton usually spend around 45 per cent of their monthly income on bills and outgoings.
Kara Gammell, from MoneySupermarket, said: “While our index shows spending on bills and expenses has dropped by nearly 10 per cent since September, it also highlights a widening gap in disposable income across the UK.
“In some areas, people have three times more disposable income than in others.”
